the
torchlight procession has been a part of the caterham fireworks
for the last 8 years. hundreds of people gather at the westway
common and the procession leaves at 6.30. the high street is
closed from the common to the dene hospital field as the procession
moves through. the caterham sea cadet marching band leads the
way and usually we have big fire engine or american police car
with flashing lights at the front. the kids absolutely love this
fantastic start to the caterham fireworks as the atmosphere is
electric. you get a real feeling of community spirit as everyone
is walking, talking, laughing and carrying a torch for local
charities. |
